Tarkin (finnish) - accurate; exact; vigilant; exclusive; perfect; quick; sharp; strict.
Ladies and gentlemen, I guess many of you can't help but wonder how had I come to actually like Tarkin (I presume that most of you have nothing against liking Daala). Some of my friends still remember what a sweet little Ani fan I was, all excited with red sabers and Goth-like Sith outfits. As for me, I can't forget the deep feeling of satisfaction I had felt when I first saw the Death Star with its haughty commander get blown to atoms.
To speak honestly, at first I had no idea what happened to me, - guess, nobody is protected from this, not even you. It was just that A New Hope's ending pleased me no longer, and the Sith lords on my first unskillful paintings gradually acquired an uncanny resemblance to Tarkin. It took me time to find more logical explanations - such as the character's talents, incredible for a non-Force-user, his overall aesthetical perfection, and the likeness of our personalities.
When the last remnants of my inner resistance were swept away, I joined the Clan; now I'm tirelessly looking for neophytes.

- You're a monster, Tarkin.
- A monster?! How dare you! I'm Erian!
To this moment I have already sketched a concept of Erians, the arrogant blue-eyed nation of humans that populate Eriadu. The type was based partially on stereotypical English aristocracy (much like the initial, pre-EU Tarkin from ANH). Above all, Erians value stability, and, since they are not bloodthirsty by nature, they commit violence only to protect order. The Doctrine of fear is a striking example of Erian approach to strategy: since war is an unwarrantably expensive kind of art, the most reasonable solution is to convince the citizens that being nice is much more favourable for them than being naughty.
However, true Erians can neither be called good nor evil, - they are principially neutral. In this case it's appropriate to paraphrase Timothy Leary - everyone gets the Tarkin they deserve.
I'd also like to point out that I find Tarkin most unlikely to be loyal to the throne. Who would like to see his elaborate ideology disfigured like that? Moreover, maintaining order in the galaxy is a business way too important to be entrusted to Force-users.
Visions of the New Order
It happened on an unforgettably warm December night in 2006. My parents left for a business trip, so Daala and I were alone in a three-room flat, cosy in a bachelor style as it only is when left at my disposal. We were drinking hot coffee slightly tinted with milk, and browsing through the Web. Daala, my companion-in-arms and muse, was very intent on ousting me from the place by the computer. As a host, I had let her use it for the rest of the night, yet it was then that the idea of Tarkin and Daala fighting for a keyboard came into my mind to stay…
This vision became a plot for a picture. For the first picture of the series. For the first experience of rendering the morbid fancies of my own in Erian style.
Since the tablet was already available, nothing could stop me from beginning the work. I combined images of the Galaxy Far Far Away with the surrounding reality (for example, the message scene from Making It By The First Star" was based on real events, and even the characters' costumes have their prototypes either in my wardrobe or in those of my friends). I was so captivated by the process that I still keep drawing - the result is this site.
